Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

MileKeep is a mileage log for self-employed people, made by an independent developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information in the MileKeep iPhone app and its home-screen widget.

2. What we collect

Nothing. MileKeep does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. There is no MileKeep account and no MileKeep server for your data to go to. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and no third-party SDKs.

3. What the app stores on your iPhone

To work, MileKeep keeps the following only on your device:

• Trips — date, distance, whether the trip was business or personal, and the optional “from”, “to” and purpose text you type.
• Vehicles — the name, type and optional registration you enter.
• Saved routes — the label, distance and places you save for trips you repeat.
• Settings — such as your weekly reminder time.

MileKeep does not use GPS or your location. Every trip is something you entered yourself.

A small summary (your claimable total so far this tax year) is shared with the MileKeep home-screen widget through storage on your device, so the widget can display it. It never leaves your iPhone.

4. Features that involve Apple

• Purchases. The one-time unlock is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, Apple ID or payment details; the app only asks Apple whether the unlock has been bought.
• Siri & Shortcuts. If you log a trip with Siri or the Shortcuts app, your request is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. The trip itself is saved on your device like any other.
• Reminders. The optional weekly reminder is a notification scheduled on your iPhone. No push service or server is involved.
• Backups. Like most apps, MileKeep’s data is included in your iPhone’s iCloud or computer backup if you have backups turned on. That backup is controlled by you and Apple, not us.
• Crash reports. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. These contain technical information about the crash, not your trips.

5. Exports you share

When you export a CSV, PDF or full data copy, MileKeep creates the file on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes next (Mail, Files, your accountant) is your choice, and that destination’s own privacy practices apply.

6. Your control over your data

Because your data lives only on your iPhone, you’re in full control:

• Take a copy any time from Settings → Export all my data. This is free.
• Edit or delete any trip, vehicle or saved route in the app.
• Delete everything from Settings → Delete all data, or by deleting the app.

We hold no copy of your data, so we can’t recover it for you if it’s deleted. Please keep your iPhone backed up.

7. Children

MileKeep is designed for adults running a business and is not directed at children.

8. Changes

If a future version changes how data is handled (for example, an optional iCloud sync), we’ll update this policy and the date at the top before that version is released. Any such feature would be off unless you turn it on.
